Jelly beans (36 months to 60 months)

The Pre-School room is where we do small group activities, for example listening games, introduce telling the time, communication, language and literacy, problem solving, reasoning and numeracy.

During your child's session we will offer a well planned purposeful curriculum, which comprises activities which are structured around each child’s individual developmental needs, as well as a broad choice of play activities. The children are encouraged to enjoy books and familiarise themselves with various types of technology such as remote controlled cars, walkie talkies and leap-pads.

A qualified Early Years teacher oversees all our curriculum planning and assessment. Daily diaries are kept for each child which keeps you up to date on their learning and development as well as their nutritional intake, wellbeing and activities that the children have taken part in and enjoyed during their day at Nursery. These will be shared with parents when they collect their child from Nursery.

The nursery rooms for the older children have free-flow access onto our outdoor playground.  All areas of learning within the EYFS Curriculum are accessible at all times.  This is to ensure that children will always have learning opportunities while both indoors and out.  This is so important to ensure we meet the needs of all our children and that they are treated as individual learners.  We have some children who learn and participate so much better while outdoors, and again we have other children who prefer to learn while participating indoors.  In allowing children to choose their environment, this allows them to reach their full potential.

It is so important for children to learn through experiences and we endeavour to provide opportunities that will help them to understand the world around them.  We arrange visits from people both into the nursery as well as taking children out.
